Chief Executive OfficerComing from the Midwest at an early age, Doug graduated from Dunedin High School and then the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Following his love for designing, decorating and building, Doug’s first career spanned twenty years and three businesses in construction and manufacturing. In 1989, he found his passion as Director of Sales and Marketing of St. Mark Village. He fell in love with the community his father founded ten years earlier. In January of 2013, Doug was asked to step up to the position of Chief Executive Officer. He is excited to serve the 600 Resident Members and 300 Staff Members as he moves the company forward following his father’s dream and mission.

David Neglia (Dave) CPA, CGMA was awarded a BA in Accounting and Economics by Rutgers University, in Newark NJ. He began his career as a public accountant gaining diverse experience by taking on progressive senior roles in the Defense, Aerospace, Life Sciences, Professional Services and Construction industries. Dave relocated to Florida in 2007 and accepted a position as Finance Director and General Manager for an international multi-billion dollar Aerospace and Defense Company. After 10 years, Dave decided to take a different direction and joined us at St. Mark Village. He has found it to be a privilege to directly contribute to the well-being of our Residents.

Carla graduated from Miami University with a degree in Communication, Theatre, and Arts Management. After many years living and working in New York City, she moved to Florida looking for a change, and what she found at St. Mark Village was life changing. Her journey to St. Mark started as a volunteer at a nearby Skilled Nursing Facility, which soon led to a position as the Life Enrichment Director at an Assisted Living Facility. This ALF was acquired by St. Mark in 1990, and Carla realized she had finally found a home. She was very, very fortunate initially to spend most of her time in the Care Centers learning as much as she could from the Residents and staff, who so lovingly supported and cared for each other.
In 1997, she was honored to be asked to join the Sales and Marketing team. Currently, as Chief Marketing Officer, her goals are to help prospective Residents feel, understand, and embrace the warmth and caring that IS St. Mark Village and to ensure that St. Mark will continue for many more generations to come. She hopes you will find your new home here, joining our extended family of friends, who make St. Mark Village such a special place.
Huseyin IsguzarChief Culinary Officer

Huseyin earned his culinary degrees in both Holland and Turkey. He is a proud Army Veteran of Special Forces, speaks five languages and a successful entrepreneur of five restaurants. While operating two Mediterranean restaurants in Holland, he met his wife Dee (who also works at St. Mark as our Community Relations Marketer) and soon moved to the States. Huseyin became a proprietor of three more restaurants then discovered his calling in the healthcare industry. His goal was to elevate the dining experience to a restaurant level. He has achieved great success in 28 different communities as Southeast Divisional Dining Director which awarded him “Best Division” in the United States.
When Huseyin isn’t in the kitchen, he is spending time with his wife and three children or traveling to Europe to visit family.
Susan GrandeCare Center Administrator

Susan Grande has a BPS in Human Services from SUNY at Utica. She began her career in Long Term Care here at St. Mark Village in the early 90’s. Susan accepted the position as the Human Services Director overseeing Life Enrichment and Social Services. While at St. Mark Village she received her license as a Nursing Home Administrator. Susan left Florida due to family illness. Since then Susan has worked mostly in the not- for-profit arena as an Executive Director. Susan’s passion has always been to improve the Residents’ quality of life. She has worked with Dr. Bill Thomas of the Eden Alternative where she became an Eden Associate and was able to bring that culture to the communities in which she served. Most recently Susan is working on her PAC Certification as an Engagement Leader which will enhance her skills in working with our Residents who have dementia. Susan plans to work with Team Members and families to develop awareness, spread knowledge and teach skills to transform what exists into even a more positive dementia care culture. When she is not working, she spends her free time with her daughter, Sara, and life partner, Bill. She also has a life coaching and hypnotherapy practice.
Sheila KynionHighland Lakes Administrator

Sheila received her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois in 1988 where she double majored in Community Health Administration and Health Education. During her career, she has worked in a variety of roles throughout the healthcare spectrum including managing group homes for the disabled, coordinating social services for hospital transitional care units and skilled nursing facilities as well as a strong focus on operations and sales for assisted living communities. As past chapter president of the Florida Assisted Living Affiliation, she advocated for elder care and legislative changes while supporting professionals who worked in the assisted living industry. She brings her passion for helping seniors and her many years of healthcare experience to her role of Assisted Living Administrator for the Highland Lakes community. Her focus is on providing seniors with superior care and service that will give their loved ones peace of mind.

A third generation native to Dunedin, Matt is a grandson of our Founder, Pastor James H. Fresh. Matt graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree of Bachelor of Science from the College of Business Administration and spent the next 16 years as a Financial & Insurance Advisor. He still carries several professional licenses including the State of Florida Assisted Living Administrator Certificate of Achievement. In 2015, after years of discussions with his father, Doug Fresh, CEO, Matt found his calling here at St. Mark Village. His life-long history at The Village is shared with family including his 4 grandparents and 2 great-grandmothers who all have called the Village home. Matt is truly dedicated to the present and the future of St. Mark Village to ensure that his grandparent’s legacy flourishes for many years to come. He resides in Dunedin with his wife Erica and their two children, Justin and Brooke.
Tina GlandisAdministrative Services Director

Born and raised in Florida, Tina didn’t venture far from home in 1988 when she landed a job at St. Mark Village during her senior year at Tarpon Springs High School. After graduation, Tina continued to work at St. Mark Village while attending classes at St. Petersburg College. During the beginning of her career at the Village she dedicated herself to learning as much about the Culinary Services Department as possible and because of her interaction with the Residents, their families, and her fellow team members found a true passion for developing special and long lasting relationships. In the early 90’s, she held various positions in the Administration Office and in 1997 was promoted to Administrative Services Manager. In 2013, Tina was promoted again to Administrative Services Director.
St. Mark Village has been a second family to Tina, as she has raised two sons during her 30 plus years here. “It is very rare to find someone who has worked at only one place during their lifetime. But this journey has been one of learning, giving, and realizing that we all play a valuable role in this special Community. It is my pleasure to serve the Residents each day.”
Kimberly GlemCare Center Life Enrichment Director

Kimberly was born in North Carolina and moved to Florida in 1999 where she graduated from Saint Leo University with a BA in Psychology. She holds several professional certificates including Activity Director Certified from the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP), an Assisted Living Facility Administrator Certificate, and a PAC Certified Independent Engagement Leader. She is also a member of the Florida Healthcare Activity Coordinators Association. Kimberly is hard of hearing (HOH) and is currently learning American Sign Language (ASL) allowing her to connect to our Residents on a deeper level. She started at St. Mark Village in 2013, earned a Director position after 7 short months and continues to thrive as the Life Enrichment Director for our Residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing Care, and Rehabilitation. When Kimberly isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter.

Homa graduated from Nursing School in her hometown of Shiraz, Iran and moved to the U.S. in May of 1978. In 1981, she settled in Florida and began her nursing career in a hospital setting. It was October 1993 when Homa discovered her passion for Long Term Care while working as a Charge Nurse at St. Mark Village. She soon became Director of Nursing and in 2013 took on a new challenge as Independent Living Resident Nurse Manager. Every day the Residents rely not only on her excellent skills as a clinician but also her counseling, kindness and warmth. For over 25 years, Homa has loved her St. Mark Village family and Residents.
Lisa LaubDirector of Sales and Marketing

Lisa, originally from New York City, has worked in the Senior Living Industry in Florida for over 25 years, where she held managerial marketing positions at HCR/Manor Care, Marriott Senior Living Services, The Sage Company and St. Mark Village. In addition, Lisa expanded her horizons when she took on the role of regional and divisional marketing manager at The Little Clinic, where she was responsible for Grass Roots marketing, business development, and customer service initiatives and training for Nurse Practitioners. After 5 years of traveling in that role, Lisa returned home to St. Mark Village in 2013 as the Sales Manager – now the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Karla has worked in the health care industry for over twenty years locally in the Tampa Bay area. Karla received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University, and earned an MBA from University of Phoenix, a Graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management from the University of Florida, and is a Care Manager Certified. In addition Karla is a Life Story Training graduate, and has earned an essentiALZ® Plus Dementia Advanced Care Certification. Karla is an active member of the Aging Life Care Association, and serves on the Florida Chapter Board of Directors. She is also a member of Better Living for Seniors, and American Society on Aging. Karla also proudly serves in an appointed position on the Dunedin Committee on Aging.

Bill was born and raised in North East Philadelphia. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he spent 14 years serving aboard 3 aircraft carriers as part of the Carrier Air Group. In 1992, he was honorably discharged and decided to focus on his education. Bill attended Rowan University in New Jersey where he graduated with a degree in Environmental Biology. However, after some soul searching, he decided on another path and attended the Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia. He graduated in 2000 and took the call to St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Clearwater, where he spent 14 years serving his community. In 2017, he took another call to St. Mark Village and immediately felt warmth and love from his new community. Bill enjoys playing hockey and spending time with his wife of 26 years, Stacy and their 3 children Victoria, Billy, and Shawn.
Wendy ThomasDirector of Nursing

Wendy, originally from North Dakota, attended the University of Minnesota where she received a BA in Psychology in 1997. She then spent 9 years managing Non-Profit Group Homes for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It was this experience that sparked her interest in the complex issues of her Residents and led her back to school for a degree as a Registered Nurse in 2005. She returned back to the Group Home setting to serve as an RN for the next 7 years. Leaving the cold behind in 2012, Wendy was Florida bound and found an Administrative Nursing position at St. Mark Village. In the fall of 2014, Wendy became the Director of Nursing and continues to strive each day to provide the best continuum of care for each Resident.
Ellen WadeIndependent Living Life Enrichment Director

Ellen hails from the Bronx, New York. She graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and began her career focused on children with autism and various cognitive disabilities. After Ellen moved to Florida, she found a job in recreation within a Senior Community and immediately knew it was the perfect fit for her. In 1997, Ellen started in the Care Centers at St. Mark Village developing Life Enrichment activities for Residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. When the position for a Life Enrichment Director in Independent Living became available, Ellen was excited to pursue her passion of planning and discovering stimulating, educational and fun programs for vibrant and active Seniors. When she is not at St. Mark Village, Ellen can be found playing racquetball, her favorite sport!
Bill ZanicchiDirector of Plant Operations

Bill began at St. Mark Village as a vendor under contract in 2013. As he worked on electrical, renovation and service projects at The Village, he became familiar with the campus, team members, and Residents and realized that he was at a unique and special place. Taking into consideration his 30 years of experience as an Administrator, Supervisor, Inspector, Educator, and Certified Electrical Contractor he was uniquely qualified to run the daily operations at St. Mark Village as the Plant Operations Director. Bill applied and officially became part of the St. Mark Village family in 2015. His job is complex, with many moving parts, as he supervises the Housekeeping, Transportation, and Maintenance departments, making sure all work together to meet the Residents needs and keep them and the team members safe and sound. Bill has been married to Theresa for 28 years and they have 4 young adult children. He loves family gatherings and playing golf.
Dr. Patrick CinelliMedical Director
Dr. Patrick Cinelli
Dr. Patrick Cinelli has been the Medical Director at St. Mark Village since 2013. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, did his residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center, and has been practicing for over 40 years. Dr. Cinelli is board certified in both Geriatric and Internal Medicine. Before coming to The Village, he was in private practice nearby and got to know many of the Residents and team members over the years. Residents from Independent Living and throughout the Care Centers have benefitted from his expertise in Gerontology and his dedication to his patients. He is approachable and available daily, as he is often seen, always on the move, talking to family members, checking on his patients, and communicating to our team members to help insure that the Residents receive the highest level of care possible. Dr. Cinelli is able to follow St. Mark Village Residents during both short term and long term transitions throughout their lifetimes, providing invaluable continuity of care.
Karen GoldsmithLegal Counsel
Karen L. Goldsmith, ESQ is a partner of Goldsmith & Grout, P.A. and has worked with Florida Health Care Association as legal counsel since 1980. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, summa cum laude and secured her law degree from the University of Florida, cum laude. She was the chosen by the Florida Supreme Court to be the main speaker at the 1979 swearing-in ceremony for new Florida lawyers. She is rated at the AV level by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating for both ethics and professional achievement.
Karen is actively involved in the American Health Care Association Legal Subcommittee and served as its chair for 3 years. She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and served as Chair of its Long Term Care Division for 2 terms. She is a frequent speaker on behalf of several organizations and writes a regular column for several association newsletters. She served as Editor in Chief of the American Health Lawyers Long Term Care Handbook and co-authored a chapter on professional liability. She recently wrote a chapter on certificate of need and licensure in a book published by AHLA. In addition to her other clients, she has worked as general counsel to St. Mark Village since December 2012. She handles the legal side of all regulatory and business matters for St. Mark Village.
